#UNSEEN Climate Change
We are bearing witness to the brokenness of our climate. Webster defines climate as follows…
#UNSEEN Forces: (MCA * STEAM)
In physics, a force (F=m*a) is any interaction that, when unopposed, will change the motion of an object. As we are immersed in quarantine, we are seeing the power of collaboration that is changing lives.
#UNSEEN: Being Vulnerable Together
When we decided that #UNSEEN was going to be this year’s blog focus, we couldn’t have imagined how COVID-19 would impact the world. We have been social distancing, working virtually and finding new ways of collaborating because of sheltering at home.
#UNSEEN: Honoring Black Community
Urban Design Perspectives celebrated Black History Month by recognizing the unseen faces within our Minneapolis community. We used this time to reflect on the milestones and took steps to seek out inspirational people.
#UNSEEN
As many start the new year with making resolutions, it is our intention to not make any checklists. The drawback with lists is that there will always be something left undone and one is left with a feeling of not doing enough.
A Year of Reflection
As we begin wrapping up 2019, our firm is taking time to reflect on the goals we set out to achieve and recognize where we still have room to grow. This year Urban Design Perspectives actively maintained a list of goals which aligned with who we are and who we would like to become.
SHAKE December Invite
During this holiday season, Common Sense Consulting and Urban Design Perspectives invite you to our on-line children’s book and/or baby items donation from December 12 – 25. Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery is a trusted resource for families in their time of crisis.
Making Change — A Celebration of Women In Leadership

BEING PRESENT — 466 And Counting
Being Present, 466 and counting…that’s the number of African American women licensed architects in the US. Startling numbers yes, but so much promise for the future.
Sustainability: Environment, Economy and Equity
I recently had a chance to be part of a beautiful welcoming home ceremony. As a board member for the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity (TCHFH), it is tradition to celebrate with families as they embark on this path of home ownership. Family members, staff and volunteers gather to see the efforts of all their hard work, and offer words of blessings.

A Look Back As We Move Forward To Celebrate a Common Purpose
As we reflect on CommonSense Consulting’s 10th and Urban Design Perspectives’ 20th anniversaries in business, we are excited to announce the launch of Common Perspectives blog. To mark this occasion, we knew that it was more than just celebrating our success.
Celebrating a Common Perspective — Its Global Handwashing Day
Today marks the 10th year of a global advocacy day dedicated to washing our hands with soap. This simple act helps to prevent disease and save lives. As part of our pay it forward giving campaign, we packed 41 care packages for the homeless.
