For Community. By Community.

“Our lenders understand the need in this particular neighborhood at this particular time and the unique things we’re trying to do.” - Alicia Belton

The newly opened Historic Coliseum Building is a space for the community. What makes it more unique is that the restoration has been supported by community.

Reflecting on the elaborate process to get the funding needed to refurbish the building, there is abundant gratitude for the multiple lenders and grantors who not only believed in the project, but also believed in the surrounding community and the importance of restoring the vitality of the neighborhood.

As a co-owner of the building, it has been an eye-opening journey for me to see firsthand how the many different funding streams were combined to make the building not only viable, but better than it was before. As architect of the project, it was critical to make every dollar count and ensure that it was wisely spent.
