A Multigenerational Family Home

In Collaboration with Charles Levin Architects

“Multigenerational Living”

Working with the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority, this project focused on reimagining an existing home with an outdated kitchen and one full bathroom. The kitchen was updated for better functionality and an additional bedroom and bath were added on the second floor to accommodate larger families and allow more living space.

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Size: 1740 sf

Environment — New windows and insulation increased energy efficiency.

Equity — Occupant’s rent is based on a predetermined percentage of a family’s income paying only what they can afford.

Economic Impact — Using the existing square footage, we redesigned the main floor to have a mud room, open kitchen with island and a full bathroom.
